Default DVD Drive region problem

As above really.

Just tried to put a dvd in my dvd drive, loaded up as normal, then it said my DVD drive is set to Region 1, and cannot support the region of the dvd - region 2 i assume? normal dvd bought in the UK anyway.

How can i sort this? ive played a dvd through the drive before... but it isnt letting me do it now?

Any software about to alter the settings or summit?

try looking in the settings and changing the region, you can usually do it a couple of times on a pc.maybe you did it by accident?but without knowing which program you are using its difficult to tell you exactly what to do.have you tried the disc in a normal dvd player on a tv?if the disc is fucked you might need to take it back to the shop for a refund.

Big wig, its not letting me change it, it does allow me to get into the screen to change it, but wont let me?

Stu, - Unfortunately its on a desktop

Was thinking there would be some drivers available for download somewhere, but ive had a look and aint found much at all, bit of a pain in the arse, as ive ditched the dvd player in my room since i got my new comp!

Gonna have to use the PS2 to watch em now, an i aint got a remote for it, which means effort to switch it off

firstly look in control panel for region and see if you have any changes left you could then just change it to what you want. failing that have a look on dangerous brothers site for a rpc1 firmware for your drive, then the restriction will be in the player software not the drive, failing that install anydvd, this will enable your pc to be fooled that every dvd you put in will be whatever region you choose, so should never give any problems again.
