Default Computer help required - winRAR problem

Should be quite a quick easy question.

Basically got some files that are compressed in winRAR format.

When I extract them, they come up as corrupt, even though I know they're not (have extracted them on the laptop and they work fine).

Any idea why this would be? Both laptop and computer run the same version of winRAR etc...

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling WinRAR?

Had this before - the actual RAR itself is corrupted, so delete it and transfer it from your laptop back to your PC again, or re-download it again - thats what I had to do last time.....

It doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Transferring one to the other and back again did nothing, and I've reinstalled RAR with no joy.

They WEREN'T corrupt, but they could be now

Winrar has a repair option in the menus, try that.

They aren't, as I tried opening it on the computer, where it claimed it was corrupt.

Moved that exact file to the laptop, and it worked fine.

Explain that?

As Rick said - open the files on the laptop, and then send them to the PC?

I know it doesn't solve WHY they won't open on the PC, but at least you get them open on the PC, which is the result you need
