Default Turbo Question re .48

I've been offered a .48 exhaust housing at a good price and was just wondering what benefit it may give me over what I currently have (stage 2 hybrid).

Is it worth bothering with? Or would I be better off keeping what I have?

Tim - The head has seen some fettling but I am unsure as to what exactly. I purchased it as a stage 2 cylinder head. I have to admit to not really knowing what that means though but I would guess some light porting and polishing. Can't see it being anything too amasing though.

b19bal I'm still trying to get the finger imprints out of the dash where you gripped it last time I took you out so I don't think I need to go much quicker Damn you are one nervous passenger

Get your flippin head gasket seen to before you start spending money on other things and/or putting more boost through it!! *tut* lol

What power is yours putting out? I'd like an idea of what 0-60 I can expect from my Fiesta with around 200bhp

Head gasket has been done Jimmy so don't worry. My power is 248bhp and when it was timed with Performance Ford for a grudge match a coulpe of months back it achived.

0-60 - 6.24
¼mile - 14.75
Top Speed - 149.7mph

Bear in mind however that I run the car with a ICE install and the car was timed with all of this in place.

I'm only considering the housing as at the money it's been offered to me at I'd be daft to turn it down.

Oh great, glad the head's sorted so quickly! Was it just the gasket then - and what did you do to prevent it from happening again? Same head bolts or different?

ICE in place for those runs hey? I reckon whip it out and slash it to 6.22

Yes b19bal we will be at teh Essex tonight but will be coming in the Audi as Rachel's whiplash injury is causing problems and she find the RS very uncomfortable and it does leave her in pain (especially when I give it some )

Jimmy mate I was using a Felpro headgasket and have been told by a few people that these aren't suitable for my application. A standard genuine Ford gasket seems to be the best bet and is what has gone in place. Boost will be turned down now while I save for the steel rods and will look at the gasket issue again in the new year. Hoping to be into the 5's for my 0-60 in the new year as well. Watch this space

Good stuff, nothing wrong with preserving an engine like that, good man Good way to make it feel like a supercar once more when the new year comes! 6 seconds feels quick in a normal car like an Escort, good achievment if you got that far I say
