Default What size will the turbo be on a Diesel?

I've heard they are totally different to a petrol turbo and I now knowing a little tiny bit about turbo chargers was just wondering what the size of a turbo would be on a diesel. For example a ford focus 2.0 TDCi 1367bhp. And without the turbo how much power would the same car have?

Also can you supercharge a Diesel?

Benni.

PMSL @ the bhp typo!

Turbo will be fucking tiny mate, and the engine without it would probably be only about 80bhp!

And yes you can supercharge a diesel.

In fact I plan on doing a "pikey motorsport" SC conversion on my derv soon

must be huge to make that power!!

generally the turbos fitted to diesel cars are very small, to match the diesels very small powerband..

smaller than anything i've seen fitted to a petrol car anyhoo

not that different from petrol ones barring usually exhaust side is bigger in comparison to the compressor.

some form of T2, same as a petrol car of that power

and yes, many used to be supercharged as standard.

Straight to 6th gear and I passed a veyron like he wasn't trying. Also another question, My dads turbo had a big pipe on it going to a box. What confused me was where did it get air to suck in as it had a big pipe on the end of it going to a box?

As far as i'm aware they use small turbos to give torque/boost early down such as t2s

My Focus pretty much bashes most of the chav-mobiles you spot out on the road. Some spotty pleb in a VTS tried racing me away from the lights on the road that comes up from the motorway past the auctions at rothwell, down towards woodlesford, and my car made mincemeat out of it. Same deal with these shitty Irmscher Corsas that look like something off robot wars, generally driven by jumped up little cunts who's mum's got them it on finance in her name
