Can anyone tell me how you remove the Cyl head nuts from a Cosworth engine with a Stud and nut conversion done on it?
Nuts are 19mm and having real problems getting a socket through the holes on the head to slacken them off.
Have had 2 sockets (good qaulity impact ones) machined down to fit but they just keep splitting
seems to be when the nut loosens for a start that they split
Dont think i can afford to keep buying sockets, the man in the van will be retiring shortly at this rate
Any info much appreciated
Cheers

just a thought here. but maybe the impact sockets are made from material that dont take well to being ground down.
how about trying a decent quality normal socket.
worth double checking the size of it aswell just in case

2x impact ones and a standard Chrome one (which split without even moving the nut)
Guess i'll just have to persevere.
