am i right in thinking that the pinto/yb block has other oil feed galleries supplying direct to the block face that aren't used in a yb engine. if so, when long studding, does the recess in the deck for the middle long stud shoulder, encroach on one of these unused oil feed galleries.

problem is, just reuilt the engine new everything and engine has low oil pressure. the sump has been off to investigate and everything looks good down there inc pump etc. block is long studded and i seem to remember some one telling me to use a bung in this hole (and another one as well) i forgot to do this and wondered if there was some way that oil pressure could be escaping here and back to the sump.

basically we have about 30psi cold at idle and this drops to 5 when hot at idle. with revs it goes up to 30-40 ish.

any ideas anyone?

any oil spiky - the cheap running in oil + also mobil1

there si no smoke engine runs fine - no noises etc, no leaks either

Hi...does the engine oil red light come on when hot at idle?As these only glow when you hit 15psi.

dont have one! but two gauges both show low pressure. any more views on the 'bung' that 'should' be in the oil gallery?
