Default Wilwood Any Good?

Thinking of getting some 4-pot calipers for my CTR as i've seen some at a good price but just wondering whether there worth it?

Also seen some Rotora 4-pots. I was told these are Brembos rebadged?

Anybody got any insight?

I have a few mates who are running Wilwoods and they are very happy with them. They just make sure they clean the pistons off before pushing them back in on pad changes, as they dont have any dust seals.

Not got a clue about the calipers you have mentioned sorry bud.

Had them on my Xr2 - they were good TBH - prefer the AP's that are my current car now, but couldn't fault the 'woods at the time

initially i found it had a really long pedal, but really stops when you push it down. it's the first car i've had where i can hold it just before lockup

some wilwoods do have dust seals now...

never had a problem with the seals
although, truth be told, they do wear the pads out at funny angles, possibly due to the way the pistons are, one is bigger than the other either side and the bigger piston tends to exert more force than the smaller one and the pads tends to have a distinct taper to them
not a lot, probably a mm when they needed changing, but it was there on both sides

any ideas or is this one to put to the brake guru's?

what i was told to do was to spray brake cleaner onto the calipers to make sure they were clean when the pistons went back in again, the pads were dead so thats what i did

also, the pads did survive being drenched in oil afer a pipe let go and the AA guy cleaned them with brake cleaner (literaly doused them in the stuff) and then dried them out with a blown torch
they lasted 2 years afterwards and they got HAMMERED hard so i'd also like to big up greenstuff pads

The dust seals are the rubber inserts that go around the pistons, you may be able to make mine out in the pics below, as you can see the rubber seals just around the piston

Ive got a new set of the Wilwoods on my Gti-R, using 310mm discs and Poly E pads.

They work a treat, great when warm altho a little noisy.
