the past week i have slowly been losing boost till the point 2night it was struggleing to peak 20psi when it normaly peaks at 32 so i bypassed the amal valve and plubed the turbo straight to the actuator and tryed it down the road and it would not boost passed 8-9 psi so me is thinking the actuator is fucked......

so

it has a FORGE actuator on it and it looks like it comes apart the same as a dumpvalve so can i buy a overhaul kit for it or has anyone near durham got a -34 i can buy........

NEED MORE BOOST AGAIN....... ....it feels slow

 

most likely a leak some were else

 

I got a Forge one you can try on it mate to make sure it is the actuator before buying a new one

If the actuator is set for 9psi, then that's all you'll see by removing the amal valve from the equation - the amal valve bleeds off to give the increased boost levels. They are serviceable though:

If the spring has weakened, it could be being overcome by boost pressure at higher levels. Could be something amiss elsewhere like abdr500 says, do you have a dump valve fitted as that could be leaking. Any strange noises?

checked all pipes today all tight and no splits and tryed blocking dumpvalve off but still the same....but the actuator has been funny for a bit i have had to keep adusting it up to get me boost back to 32 but now the preload is right up i have to pull it easy a hole and a half to hook onto wastegate and it struggles to hold 8-9 psi without amalvalve

 

has anyone near durham got a -34 i can buy........

i popping to sunderland in a bit to try bigern's on my car just to make sure it is that and if it is i either need a new spring for mine or a CHEAP actuator

well tryed new actuator on today and got boost back

and now the turbo is smoking even worse...

 

 

i want to send it away for a rebuild but i want to goto the passoin ford meet and know it will be not back in time......

 

i had my last turbo rebuilt it only took a week....2 days of that were the post....plenty people off here that will do it for u

 

Give Andy Urwin in Newcastle a bell mate, apparently he used to work for Turbo Technics I think and is supposedly more than capable with rebuilding a turbo.
