ALL cars use oil!

and as said they either leak it or burn it!

Blue smoke is LOADS of oil being burnt though.

1 litre/per thousand miles is considered perfectly acceptable by most manufacturers!

The M5 uses approximately 1litre every 500 miles. When I took this to BMW they advised me that this was within tolerances for the car.

Especially lovely is that the oil costs 14 quid a litre!

The clio 16v uses oil. A clued up mate told me when my missus was looking for hers to ask the owner if it used oil. If they said 'no', then they were talking bollox and don't know what they're on about.
Can't remember the exact reason he said it used oil tho.

when a car uses oil where does it go

when i first bought my white 4x4 saph cossie, it used to go down the side of the car...

someone had tried to bodge a homemade breather system, and the "overflow" was dangling about under the inner wing...

yup,...and the braking was greatly reduced on long blasts....

scary...

In a secret hidden sump, maybe it's "keeping it for later"
