Default Mortgage rates types advice

Hi all
It that time when my fixed mortage period is comming to an end

Have for the last two years been paying 5.15% and they (Nat West) now offering a new rate fixed for another two years of 5.59%

If I dont do anything it will revert back to their standard rate of 7.44%

Basically just want some info on different types of mortgages, so when I go have a chat with them got a bit more of an understanding what they actually talking about

Is the current rate at a sort of high likely to go down over the next couple of years where a variable might be a better idea, or are they likely to rise from where they are now etc

Want something (I think) that actually pays the mortage off not just an interest only type thing, but dont really understand the idea behind this, so maybe some input on this.

OK so I dont really understand much about it all , so ANY input greatly received

More interested in advive and not what people are paying

Thanks

Steve

I'm no expert but I would go to an independant mortgage advisor and get them to talk you through it all, interest only are useful in certain instances, but personally I would always fix the rate whatever I did as interest rates only seem to be going in one direction at the moment and that is UP

Best advice you'll get is with a independant mortgage advisor. they earn their cut from the mortgage companies. There are so many avaialble and to be honest the lowest rate may not actually be the cheapest.

Best get pro advice
