Anyone go to Old Trafford last night??
Got a free ticket off a mate at the eleventh hour, so I toddled along to check it out, knowing the European boys would probably get done seeing as they'd never played together
Highlights of the night for me, were finding out that the United fans only have one chant (united! united!), and seeing Ronaldo fall over when he tried to be fancy
Was a good spectacle but the second half Euro side played much better than the first.
I tested the waters with a few Leeds chants/songs
In general it was a laugh. Must say though, I thought the Manc fans were very very sad for booing Stevie G's every touch when he'd gone to the trouble of turning out for a game that was lining the coffers of United's own charity......

Yup I went
How long did that Mexican Wave go on for, lol
As you say no singing, thats the quietest I have heard it in years. I think alot of people there were not the usual crowd, it was more a show game. I dont know any of my season ticket mates that went.
Was a good game in terms of showmanship I thought, gave them all a chance to have a bit of fun.

Crowd was quiet cos although there was a lot of United fans there, there was also your ordinary public there for the occassion. The reason, IMO, that it was a bit quiet was that most United songs (as with a lot of other teams), are about taking the p1ss out of other teams and with the world wide audience and the manner of the game, it was probably not wise to sing the usual songs However, the temptation to boo the scousers was obviously too much to resist, especially Gerrard after his comments.
Not fooking rocket science is it

The guy gave up his free time to play a game for uniteds charity, regardless of whatever he has said or done IMO the fans booing was appalling, If thats the thanks he gets he shouldnt bother be there a next time.

There's no doubting he's a great player (in a crap team)
We're just gutted he wouldn't come over to the better Reds when he had the chance a couple of years back and joined up with Keane. What a midfield that would have been...
Anyway, I think Lippi was taking the pee having Diouf and Fowler to go with Gerrard and Carragher
Last minute replacements close by I think.
Just a shame some of the Euro team couldn't make it in the end: Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Beckham to name 3.
