Default Mondeo dead AGAIN?

Car had a missfire last night and this morning, mainly under heavy load at low rpm (under 4k anyhow), but seems to have got a little worse.

And now, JUST as i parked up at work, shitloads of steam poured out the bonnet and water poured onto the floor from near the drivers side wing/door join.

Water temp has sat at half way the whole time, no sign of overheating, though now and again for a week or two the cars kinda smelt like hot/boiling water.

If these didnt happen at the same time id think its plugs and a split hose, but as they didnt, im thinking head gasket.

Thoughts?

i'd suggest it was broken mate

sounds like it's split a hose, possibly something thats perished or even a core plug thats popped out

have a dig under the bonnet to see where the water is coming from but wait for the engine to cool down else you might fuck it even more

seems a bit of a co-incidence to coincide with a missfire tho

maybe the water was seeping out and getting into the electrics?

source the leak first and then worry about the missfire afterwards

you never know, it might be a dirty great crak in the head thats slipt wide open andthen you'll need a new engine anyway

Stavros, what is it with your Mondeo and the problems you've had = unbeliavele grief

I've got three of 'em (all 2 litre Zetec Ghia Estates), 168 k miles, 153 k miles and "newest" one is on 82 k miles - no problems with any of them in over 3 years of ownership and over 34 k miles travelled, apart from a failed starter motor and money spent on bulbs/wiper blades/servicing
