Default What to use to clean a shower head??

All the little holes on our shower head in the bathroom are black(literally) the water still comes out but sometimes you will get less power so we scrub it and then its ok for a while until it blocks up agian, but whatever we do we cant get this black shit off it, thought about soaking it over night in iron/kettle cleaner? or is there a better solution or even something specifically for the job?

pour vinegar in your kettle, boil it, then dunk the shower head in it

Not only will it make your shower head good as new, it'll make your kettle sparkly clean

Thats the most sensible thing in theory

Didnt think of buying a new one because its not THAT bad, the rest of the shower head looks like new, and plus is a spanky expensive electric shower so the actual head wont be too cheap i imagine

Seconded.

Once it's started it'll keep coming back regular. Buy a new one and spray it daily with one of them shower sprays.

ok, we might try one of the above solutions first, if that doesnt work very well then we'll get a new head.

Cheers folks

can you not open the shower head up and clean it like that?
if it's the spin openable one you hsould have a bit of plastic to spin it out with did it with ours and you don't need to soak it at all, just wpie round the inside with a sponge and it';s all gone

seriosly, get a jug of water and put some malt vinegar in it to make a weak solution. undo the shower head and leave it to soak in there overnight and it'll come out like new
