Default lower temp fan switch, where from?

My radiator fans come in too late (105c on laptop) would rather have them come in much sooner.

Do ford do lower one's (part no)?

What is the best temp to keep the engine at?

cheers, Paul.

Hmm sound's better, at the minute on the gauge its touching red when they cut in, but they seem to cool ok once running.

Demon tweeks sel an adjustable sensor but gotta cut hose to fit it and its bout £50, rip-off cunts.

be interested if you find one mate, otherwise you could wire a simple switch into your dash and switch it on manually when needed, I have same feeling about mine I dont like the time it takes to cut in.

true it looks late on the gauge mate, but how accurate is the gauge thats the question.

Might try a new sensor in mine just for peace of mind

Yeah but its not good switching the fans on if the thermostate hasn't opened surely?

true that, but it would only be for use long after the therm has opened, it is probably just as damaging to run a engine to cold as it is to run it to hot, so one would be advised to know fully what there doing and what the water temp should and should not be

Not fitting a manual switch cos ill forget but i could put a manual over-ride in, but thats just hassle and not worth it if i can get a lower switching sensor.

Thought they had temp stamped onto them but mine is blank.

Ford gauge is crap but i also have a ecu monitor which gives me temp in celcius(sp?)

just wire it so you can turn it on manually.

it will still come on automatically if you forget anyway

Go to a DECENT motor factor and they can look up the cut in/out temp for all the fan switches available.
Almost all switches are the same thread although you may need to change the terminals to suit the new switch (hardly brain surgery is it?!).
PM me if you cant get any joy and I'll sort you out a part no. or stick one in the post.

it is generally agreed that for optimum power and torque, an engine requires a working temperature of around 70oC/158F. this is not optimum temperature for economy......
Lower the better then, wonder if a cvh stat will fit (different part numbers )?

Might be worth seeing if a CVH stat will fit? I have a 82ºc stat, so if it fits you could alsways use a lower temp one
