With regards the high powered Jap Stuff - we only ever map to 2 bar on pump gas - and rarely go over 2.3bar on race fuel...

If you try giving a Defi more than 2 bar - it goes into shutdown sequence

We have got a Racetech 2.5bar jobby that's used for mapping over and above and it is good.

Shame there aren't any real trick gauges for over and beyond 2bar though

Cant really justify the cost Mark

Have been speaking to the techinal guy at the sensor company that supply SPA and he is trying to work thru my probs...

He has never heard of a sensor failing....and says they are guranteed for 6 million pressure cycles

Might not need another gauge after all

That AiM looks the absolute nuts! So is it compatible with the L8 then, or do you need all the sensors?

SPA quality sucks - ive got several gauges and they are all fooked....going in the bin when the new AiM dash goes in.

The way Mr Shead is going with his engines he's going to need to commission his own brand of 3bar+ gauges! LOL

I remeber you saying that you have had lots of LED faults with them.

I have had one back light failure but has been fine apart from that.

the probs i have are the pressure sensors loosing their zero points and also interferance from HT leads etc no matter how far away i route them.

Shame no other gauge does what they do.

Dont really fancy buying four seperate gauges to replace them with.

their warranty sucks too mate - I called them about the issues and they pretty much said tough shit. £50 to replace a LED!? Ill keep the £50 and they are welcome to their reputation going southwards.
Its the fact they just didnt care that hacked me off TBH - they could at least sound like they give a toss that a few hundred quid of gauges has failed.

That is just the picture from the Stack site that I used, it is a 0-4 bar gauge .

Damo,
Boost pod went yesterday .

Euan,

I think have the SPA guage the same as you Euan. Boost and EGT???

I NEVER look at it though. Find them hard to read on track. I always just look at the big Elliot 3 bar one. They look similar to the Stack one and are alot cheaper! I think Martin has a couple of second hand ones for sale. Gooooood gauges!

It was not funny at the time but very amusing now!! Even that 60psi gauge wouldve been almost pushed to read it, lol.

Back on topic.... Autometer do 35 psi boost gauges in the Silver Ultra-Lite range and White Phantom Range but they don't show vacuum. They are not that expensive either and do them in 52mm and 63mm.

Care to share ? I'm looking for an oil temp sensor and oil pressure sensor (0-5v) for a data logging system.

porkie..i have boost and oil pressure.

I dont really look at it while driving fast but have the warning light set and can recall the peak boost, which i like.

I dont really have room for a massive gauge

defi's are probably the only other option but its a bit dodgy to have one that only reads to 2 bar as my car hits 35 psi usually.

Yes Euan you are right.... warning lights are good Wish I knew how to set mine up hahhaha

Got 5 SPA gauges.... think 4 have broken backlights now!

I still like them though. Peak recall is cool as you say

How about getting rid of all your stuff and getting a STACK or an AIM dash??

You could talk a NORMAL person through it in 2 minutes - set aside 2 hours for Lee, and make sure you can email diagrams .

Lee has only been able to change a wheel for 18 months .

Mr "Arrive and Drive" Manning has too much money to worry about filling his head with such trivialities, he would rather someone did it for him so he has more memory capacity for important stuff, like his bar bill .

If you explained it to me during work time, it would take less than 3 nano seconds (provided I understood your wank accent!)

From 7am-6pm weekdays I am Razer sharp.... I can have 3 conversations with 3 different people in different languages at the same time and not miss a single word or number

However any hours after that and at weekends my brain shuts down completely and I am about as sharp as a beachball During these times, I have to concentrate to even remember to breath

Oh and its nothing to do with money! its just my Attention span at weekends is TINY Euan....

You would get as far as 'press the red button three times....' and I would be walking off to find something more interesting OR I would be falling asleep!
