Default square beams... why has nobody done a copy?

as above really, they seem so simple? someone could make some tubular arms and sell as a setup!? it it more complex than it looks or something?

anyone?

P.S. if somebody wants to lend me theirs so i can make a copy, it's be much appreciated!

there not that simple, its not a simple bit of square box section, there is quite a bit of fabrication involved.

To get it to work right and last involves quite a bit of work.

Depends where you start from really, i.e fabricate from new, or chop onto an old arm.

I much prefer the 1st idea, and fabricate a completely new arm.

There are also about 4-5 different way to do it.

Why copy something when you don't know exactly how/why it works? And if you do, surely it then makes sense to fabricate from scratch....

And you may not realise there are 6 different versions that I know of....so you could end up back at (square) 1...pardon the pun....

This is correct but like Ryan says there is alot more to them than just a box section, Each mount is in its place for a reason and the slightest differents would effect the whole handling, also there are lots of gusseted areas which make it more complex. I've only chose to do a few due to demand as the ones I'm making are already sold, after that we'll see how well they perform and decide wether theres a market for more.

I am sure there would be a lot of people interested in this setup, just the price is the main concern i guess

danny what style beam and arm have u got?

before i send this Y link obviously it may not fit dependant on the track of the beam/arms.

I would offer my offer for the WRC conversion, but its just been painted so would mean alot of repainting

theres plenty of square beams about but you really need to speak the rally boys for those parts

most clubmans and grpa cars use these some have the magnesium arms aswell

Marco, I thought Mag arms wouldn't be good for a road/track car though?

Danny, PM a Price of how much you think a set up like that would cost.

With the Mag arms you will rpob need to get them stripped and painted once a year to protect them from salt on our lovely british roads

erik

your right , for road no good good for track/race /rally car only

I could have fitted a proper Grp A back end on my sierra yrs ago with the proper hubs aswell but decided not to because my car is a road car and the arms wouldn't last 5 mins on the road

Gareth ,
Someone already does ! But i reckon no-one would pay for the chassis mods let alone the cradle , besides why bother on a road car , it'd make precious little difference .
