dos command for format

Default dos command for format

anyone , i cant remeber it again !!

its time to format the hdd AGAIN fookin sick of spyware freeware etc etc

so i need the dos command pls !!

Erm......run FDISK off a DOS boot floppy and format from there.

Think DOS command is just "FORMAT C:" (assuming C drive)

aye its just format

but its a program, not a built in command, so you need to get hold of a copy (filename=format.com)

easiest thing to do is just fdisk and remove the partition... when when you go into windows setup program it will partition and format it FOR YOU

Oh yeah, put a Grandad engine in the Sierra? That sould give it a bit more poke.
Have you got the TT conversion fitted?

If you plan to install XP an easy option is run your installation cd as boot up the it will ask if you want to format / partition etc. Goto bios and change boot up sequence, cd - floopy - hard drive.

dos will only format it to fat32 which (if you have a hard drive over 2gb) is not the right way to do it

let the os install disk do it for you

if its 98, type in format c: /q

this will do the format quickly and not in 30 mins!
