Think an EBay scammer is trying it on with me

Think an EBay scammer is trying it on with me
Was bidding on an engine, which I lost in the last 10 seconds
Suddenly I get a 2nd chance, I'm thinking hmmm....
So I emailed him, and got this reply. Now he should live less than an hour away from me remember!
"Hi,
They lost interest after the auction ended you know how it happens. If you want to buy it just let me know, because the
transaction it is handled by eBay.All you have to do is to send me your full
name and address, eBay username, item number so we will start a secure
transaction through eBay.They will contact us about the payment and postage
details.(you will buy this item now at your last bid price including
postage).
Pick up is not available because due of my divorce, need to resolve my
problems, but i will pay the postage.
Cheers"
So I'm thinking WTF, it would cost well over £100 to post, sounding mega dodgy now
So I replied....
"No mate.
Pick up only.
If its no pickup and pay cash, then no deal I'm afriad.
Just sounds like a scam otherwise.
Thats rubbish about it been an EBay thing, as I've done this loads of times and paid cash.
If your genuine, please give me your land line from Ilkeston, and I will call you to discuss the matter further.
Regards,
Tim"
Then got this back....
"SIR I SENT YOU AN SECOND CHANCE THROUGH EBAY, I AM AN EBAY VERIFYED SELLER, IF YOU ARE NOT OK WITH MY TERMS, THEN PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE, I AM NOT OBLIGATED YOU TO WAIT AND PICK UP THE ITEM, MAKE THE PAYMENT AND I WAIT YOU WITH PICK UP"
How much does he sound like a Nigerian
So I sent this back...
"No offence, but you don't even have a grasp of the English language.
If you were genuine you would let me come and pick it up, or provide a land line number to verify your location.
However you can do neither.
I have nothing to proove, you have it all to proove.
I have talked to the chap who won the auction, and oddly enough he had the same problem. Bit odd eh?
So choice is yours. I have £422 on my desk now in cash. I live less than an hour away if your real. I'll drive down, look at the engine, come home then do the transaction your way, and let you pay postage like a muppet, even though I could of saved you about £100 in postage by putting it in the boot of my car. Another reason why your a fraudster."
Can't wait to see what I get back

You could report him to eBay saying that the terms and conditions of picking the engine up haven't been met.
Sounds to me as if he's had a pal bidding too to increase the money bidded. Happens a lot that, once the money has reached the maximum they then offer you the second chance. Not strictly a scam but fucking annoying nonetheless
Best of luck mate.

Too right fella!
His major problem was he'd have to wait for me turn up with the money. If he told me where to go and to set off now I'd sack all my plans off tonight to go! Even better payment could be there in 15 mins thanks to your kind offer to help out
Deffo scam!
Its one of those rare occasions I'd gladly want to be prooven wrong as it was a bargain, but they not getting one penny until I see it!
