Basically, had the same sky box 4-5 years, it busted the other night, just switched off in the middle of a program, and all it was showing was a very faint red light.

Well anyway, i have been offered a Sky+ box but dont know if i will have to change my Sky viewing card or not as i dont know if it will be compatible. I know that if i was to get another normal sky box all i would have to do is call them up to register the card with that box.

But i dont know if it works the same with upgrading to Sky+ or not, as i cant really imagine it being free other than buying the box

They will issue you a repalcement card, you'll also need another cable running from the dish as Sky+ uses a dual feed from the LNB on the dish.
