I was arrested for the first time yesterday!!!
Yep, first and last time!!! At a football match! I'm not a yob that goes up causing trouble before you think of it! Basically i went to Charlton for the away game with West Ham! They were playing fucking shit like they always do! My seat was Row A, at the front near the pitch! Went 3-0 down and i jumped up & out of my seat screaming at them them for barely trying!! I'd had a few beers aswell but was too tanked up!! Just wondering whats the worst that can happen? Ive been told i'll probably get a fine? Stupid me!!! Had my prints taken and a recorded interview! Being sent a tape in the post!!! Kinda shitting it to be honest! Is there anything i can do to maybe help me in the second interview! I've got to go back in 3 weeks the day after my birthday!

nothing will happen mate like you said just a fine or maybe bound over for 6 or 12 months which means you carnt have anymore runins with the police for the 6 or 12 months or this case can be brought back up and you can go to court for it.
Also carnt see them giving you an interview tape didnt think they were allowed its just solicors that can get them.

dont worry its not exactly a hanging offence.a second interview? whats that about then? you get taken to the cells sometimes you get charged with a public order offence ,sometimes they just let you go after the game .its not like you assualted anyone. i d guess at a breach of the peace with a Ł150 fine max maybe even less as its a first offence.

I didn't offend anyone. I didn't struggle and i basically was good as gold! They asked what happened & asked if a ran onto the pitch. i said no i didn't because i didn't. I didn't run anywhere. All i done was get out of my seat two or three times and had bit of a shout. An official came over and walked me out to the side where i was then arrested. I might get the interview up and steam it, depends how it sounds!

I wouldnt have thoaght they will be too hard on you
I havent been arrested at football for a while but i know i dont have any trouble getting tickets now after a bit of previous a few years ago.
Look at it this way if you do get a ban atleast it will be lifted for when we are back in the premiership after a stint in the championship.

Just to clarify any football related arrest what does go to court will end up with a banning order.

Seems a bit harsh if i get a lifetime ban as i didn't do anything! Yes it looked like i was going to run on the pitch or whatever but the fact of the matter is that i didn't!

The question is "what offence was you arrested for?"....who says you will be getting a 2nd interview? generally when your bailed to return its normally for further evidence to be obtained, which in this case CCTV possibly. You are entitled to a copy of any interview tape as this is outlined to yourself on tape before the interview is started. You can either have the tape or your legal representative, or you can chose not to have a tape. again you would have ticked a box on a form (cant remember form number) with your intentions.
to be honest you are coming up to the end of the financial year so they would have probably run out of court money anyway and you will be given a FPN.
Anyway Learn by your mistakes and good luck with it. (we all make mistakes )

Thanks Metpol. I take it your part of the law. Sorry what an FPN, formal public notice?? I was arrested for ''running onto the pitch'' Thats what it says on the paperwork. I didn't run anywhere and i didn't go onto the actual pitch!! & yes i ticked a box saying that i wanted a tape sent to me.

You will get a ban from the ground i reckon for a couple of years.Or you might be lucky and get a slapped wrist.
There is a video of me on youtube at Wigan this year with me having a wrestle with a steward after United scored.

if you ticked the box saying that you wanted the tape then they should have given it to you before you left custody. The tape recorders run two tapes at the same time. When the interview is over you get to pick which tape is sealed.. the officer will then fill out a label which is signed by yourself and the interviewing officers. The tape you chose is then sealed with the label and then place with any case papers. obviously we like to have a copy which we can listen to when completing case papers but we can also copy the unsealed copy.
To be honest when it comes to football related cases they are generally quite hard on people..I think that is down to incidents where fans have travelled abroad and caused mayhem, and we are under this stigma of being a race of football hooligans. If you are lucky they may (if the CPS decide) give you a fixed penalty notice and knock down your offence to something under public order act.
The offence in full is "its an offence for a person at a designated football match to go onto the playing area or any area adjacent to the playing area to which spectators are not generally admitted without lawful authority or lawful excuse (which shall be for him to prove).
If you say that you didnt go on the pitch or any area adjacent then I would just say that in court and ask for any CCTV evidence to be produced. Like the other chaps on here have said if you are convicted of this offence you will more than likely get a banning order.
