Default Bird hits screen at 160+mph (not mine!!) NOW WITH VID!!

Gary and I went to the Mitsubishi 30-130 event today at RAF Marham and, amongst all the things that happened, the most memorable was a poor guy in an Evo 9 who had a large sea-gull type bird hit the screen, whilst he was travelling at 160+mph!!

He had a passenger who was video'ing at the time, so there will be a video posted soon about this, but the inside of the car was covered in glass. It is quite remarkable that everyone (except the bird) came out of this unscathed.

There was a fair bit of blood on the screen and a trail of bird-shit along the bonnet as though the bird realised a split-second before it hit the screen what was about to happen and shat itself.

Apparently it didn't die instantly either, it was seen flapping around on the runway!!

I hit a pheasant doing about 100mph. Bugger broke my spotlight and bits of it went everywhere. Bits were stuck all over the windscreen and when I tried the wipers they just smeared the remains everywhere

I took a pheasant in the chest on my motorbike, that took my breath away to say the least

I braced myself as it happened then after thought, breath... but I couldn't. Had to pull over and catch my breath back.

It exploded as it hit me and the blood was still stained into the tank when I sold it.

I took the Memory card from the V-Box to the results station and watched the data as it came off, yes he did hit 201mph. He had VERY high ACT's too, so, if the weather hadn't been so bad in the afternoon, would have most probably gone faster.

He did 30-130mph in just a shade over 6 seconds too.

For those that don't know about the 30-130, Gary's 14.5 second effort is similar to me going to a Top Speed day and doing 140mph.

We think it is down to gearing, which is lovely as that means more money spent!!

Evo's tend to have a really shite transition from 4th to 5th gear and we could only squeeze 125ish mph out of 4th gear by increasing the rev limit!

I had a bird once hit me head on into my shoulder while riding my R1 at 100mph+.

Almost knocked me off and man did it hurt. Managed to hang on and bring the bike to a halt.

Default bird

i hit a pigeon a few years ago when taking someones company car back to them after having a front bumper replaced that we had just sprayed ,it hit the front bumper and it left a little trail of blood on the bumper and as the man whos company car it was was looking at his new shiny bumper he saw the blood and wiped his finger through it and said to what was it and when i told him that i hit a pigeon on the way to him and that it was actually the birds blood on his fingers you should have seen his face.

Bloody hell, that out does me!

The most I could manage was a large badger at 120mph on the A68 at three in the morning in my old Fezza Turbo and that was plenty bad enough for me! Wiped out everything after the "H" on the number plate to the edge of the bumber on the passenger side (including the fog and spot light!). It even bent the towing eye down to road level! Scared the shizen out of me as well!

Badger recovered well in hospital! (probably.....could only find blood and fur! eww.)

On the way back from the Nurburgring in 2004, I was following my mate on his Fireblade in France on the 916 when what I thouht was a plume of smoke suddenly erupted from his bike at 150-160ish! Imagine my surprise when he pulled over to show us this!! Luckily missed his head or it may of removed it! He thought it was a Pheasant or similar sized bird

you never fell off?!?!
thought about it Watched the fecker get up from a gate way, take flight and.. oh bollox, BANG. Was doing circa 80mph

The most I could manage was a large badger at 120mph
lol

Just reminded me I took a badger out in an Astra GTE many years ago, shredded the poor bugger on the exhaust clamps Worst bit was the smell of cooking badger from the exhaust every time I drove the car for a while after
