These so-called "premium" french cars (and other generally shit brands) drop like a lead balloon. peugeot 607, Citroen C6, Vauxhall Signum, Renault Vel Satis (remember all the adverts on telly and sponsoring six feet under etc? Only ever saw one of them on the road!), Alfa 166 etc.
Jaguar X-Type's arent meant to be too good at holding their value either, mainly because people may as well buy a mondeo tbh

I was on a long train journey last month and had my glasses guide and thought I'd look through at what 3 year old car has lost the highest proportion of it's new price, to kill an hour.
I got bored very quickly though [there was probably a woman involved ] and remember I never came to a proper conclusion.
But I do remember that one of the ferraris surprised me [I always considered them just to haemorrhage money through servicing costs, not depreciation in the first 3 years] as one model was way up there.
The VW Phaeton was possibly the worst.
As said by someone above, the leading model French cars often lose shit loads in the first few years. But in my opinion this just makes them better value as a used car.
