my uncle has one on order and has been promised the first one in the dealership
he has an 05 plate one at the minute, and other than the fact its a good handling quick car, i find it a little dull and plasticy, pretty poverty spec really (for a modern car)
the new ones dash looks superb
not too sold on the external looks though, and apparently its the exact same engine with no improvements over the old shape

I love the interior Going to just have a look down the dealer this evening as they have open evening in Cardiff.
Want to see the outside styling in the metal first, but i think it looks funky. Pity it hasnt got a new engine though

just read up on the engine, although the power output is only up a few bhp it seems it has some new tricks up its sleeve
it has a balancing shaft (as seen on old alfas ) but the new vtec system cuts in at only 5200rpm, which can only add to the fun

Got an invite to a honda dealer last night for there unveiling party, looks wise only difference from the type s and R is the colour coded body kit and front grill Standard radio is crap so you have to pay 550 for the up grade straight away, performance wise engine basically the same as the last but revs raised by 400rpm and more torque at 2000rpm for around town driving?! and shorter gearing for sportyness BUT they have changed the rear suspension from IRS to live axel!??? but claim to have the same handling ability?
Got test drive booked for next weekend so will let you know more then as will test side by side with the old type R.

Its not a fucking live axle, how does a FWD car have a live rear axle
Its now running torsion bars on the rear, like Pug 205s, 306s, etc etc, and they widely renound to be the best handling FWD cars around...
One of the guys here who drove it is a right TypeR fanatic owns a supercharged EP Civic TypeR, and he was impressed, so its safe to say they decent.

Deffinatley Gareth, im going for Test drive next week THe interior is awsome! Love the lay out on the dash, it has a lot more creature comforts which suits me down to the ground. I could pay 20k for one though. Thats M3 money with few miles on the clock

how can a maufacturer produce a car that is more expensive, has one more horsepower and less torque and is heavier than the older model and expect it to sell?
it has waaay less bhp than all of its competitors.
i like the old type R as it was built as a proper hot hatch but i believe this one is just a pimped up shopping car.

Not bad
Considering i work for Honda and where i am there is hundreds of them just parked up. A well made car (kinda) and they are a good car, but im not getting one The drive is nice but it just doesnt excite you
A guy i work with is one of the first on the list to get one, he spec'd it up and it came to £21500 Sod that for a fwd, slow car
