Gear stick
Hi all right my gf got me a dvd headunit at xmas had in me corsa but now have xr2i but when i put in the Din slot and the screen is out my hand hits the screen when changing gear what can i do, cut the stick down???

I know the problem you're talking about.
It's a bit of a pain in the arse - especially if you're folding the screen out as you're driving and forget when trying to change into 3rd.
Anyway - the only solutions I could see when using a DIN foldout touchscreen in my old FRST was to either get fabricating a DIN slot where the central air vents are (might be a bit high though for use and for being visible by thieves - unless it's got a face off front?) or to mount it down in the coin tray in the centre console itself (the tray comes out beneath the window switches - it's a DIN sized slot just needs a cage and brackets).
Other than that you'll just have to put up with it.

if it only just hits, maybe a quickshift from burtons?
i have one on my FRST, reduced throw quite a bit.
or, maybe give gearlever a good warm up and bend it back toward you?
