Default diesel to petrol conversion

alrite folks

was just interested to no what wood be involved in converting my dog slow 1.8d engine in my mk4 escort van to a 2.0 petrol zetec?

i no id have to arse about with a petrol tank,pump etc but would the wiring really be a ballache?

any help with this subject would be well appreciated as i dont think i can live with the 1.8d for much longer

How about you just have your diesel chipped? Will take make life alot easier or would it still be slow?

i'm doing the same with my van, ive just bought a whole donor car 1.6 16v zetec to replace the 1.8d starting in 3 weeks so i'll let you know. i cant forsee any problems with the wiring if you mark it all up properly, i think i'll struggle with tank if you could let me know what your'e doing with that.

They wont do fuck all on the 1.8d engines, i put up with mine being slow for 3 years, i had a tonne out of it tho

I think you are correct Christian, you can wind open the fuel pump on the early engines though, makes a slight difference!

Personally i wouldnt bother, not worth the hassle and it will still be slow with a 2ltr petrol engine in it
