Default RS turbo rear drums - confused

Right i bought some new drums off ebay. There the right diameter and fit nicely, however they dont sit flush with the hub. Theres about a 5-10mm gap. There not caught on anything and are sitting right up against the backing plate. So wtf, lol. They look identical to the old drums except they are slightly taller hence they dont sit flush. Any idea why?

In the attached file, it pretty much shows whats wrong. Its the actual "inner" bit that slots into the drum thats too deep. Hope the pic makes sense, lol

feckin ebay! What other escort shares this size drum tho. Its definitly ford and the right diameter, just slightly too deep! Might see if someone can trim it down a bit...
