Ever Raced One Of These!!!

GTO NA's are 225 BHP
Twin Turbos are 320 BHP and will get to 60 in just under 5 and a half seconds and max out around 160-170MPH.
Some of the lads stateside are running 9 Second quarters and we're not far behind over here.
It all depends what you think is slow.
Remember the NA's look the same as the TT's.

In fact looking at the figures here: http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/car_info/ser4x4sc.htm you're about as fast (stock) as the GTO NA.

WTF
Why is it when any car comes up for questioning you get someone wafting across from the owners club signing up to touing performance figures and what some American drag racers are doing?
And how can ATW figures be meaningless

Anyone who ups their tyre pressure to get a higher atw figure is only kidding themselves.
You've got to take a lot of stuff with a pinch of salt.

MK 1 GTO was 280, MK 2 & UK 3000GT are 320.
It's fairly easy with a boost controller & improved breathing to get them up to 340-350 but require bigger changes to get them above 400.
As for the bloke with the 700 HP GTO, i'd take that with a pinch of salt if I were you, it is very very very hard to get near a figure like that.
AFAIK Ray Pampena has the current record, the dyno run is worth a look here: http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...2500e66ff6.htm
Anyway, sorry to bust in on your board... keep it on the black bits.

i'm sure you chaps do indeed have some fast motors, but if any of you would like to go up against my GTO let me know.
I'm pretty sure there won't be a car on here that would give me much trouble

I've been in the passenger seat of GTO Nemesis' car in its old spec when it was 'only' running around 500bhp...
If the rumours i've heard about it since are true - i wouldn't pick a race with it.
It was in the TOTB line up in years gone by to give you a clue

That said I don't remember many Fords beating me around the handeling curcuit at TOTB4.
I've built my car more for teminal speeds, I hope to deliver a 200 MPH+ run at this years TOTB.
As for tracks, I love cuircuit racing. Drags are Ok but not a big focus of mine, plus everytime I go I break large gearbox bit

na mate, if it was n/a @ around 200-220bhp i would have beaten it easier than i did. it was on a g plate though, what mark is that?
Depends if you're running stock and he could have had an NA with a few improvements. A stock NA hits 60 in around 6.7-6.9 so yes he'd be slower but not much.
Could have been a buggered TT though
Cheers

P.S. That escort vid is insane.

Hopefully he will be at TOTB this year?
Very much doubt I will get anywhere near it on a 1/4 mile but I think I will hold my own on the V Max runs. The handeling cuirciut should be a good challenge too.

I think the only realistic chance your car as mate is over 130mph against martins.. There no way it will beat it off the mark, and no way it will out handle it. But hey you never no, what are ur quarter mile times?? and 0.62,,,,,0.100
Looks well Anyway.
Looks well Anyway.

Gareth Lloyd floats around on here - fancy putting your against his n the handling circuit?
Or up against Rod's top speed?
Anyway, no Fords ever make it to TOTB any more as they're all rusty unreliable heaps!
