Default After a "lads chat" last night.....

Name your top 3 Premiership players of ALL time, and reasons why????

I said

Cantona, Just brought a whole new look on football to england, you wouldnt have you Ronaldo`s,Rooneys,or Henrys etc etc if it wasnt for him...

Schmicheal.. Do you REALLY need to say ANYTHING about this guy!!

But im STILL torn on my 3rd...

I got it down to Shearer,Fowler,Addams,G Nevile,Rush,Beckham,Henry,Sheringham??

But there are SOOOOOOOOOOO many more, but what makes them "the best"?? We can all roll names off,who are good, what what makes them BETTER than everyone else??

What do you guys say???

Pete...

cant really think of 3 apart from the obvious, but i reckon ole gunner solskaer or however you spell it......is one of the best, supersub. never really understood why hes always been on the bench or in the shadows though, if he'd been in any other team he'd have been a star.

Too hard to do. Like times of old with Best, Law, Charlton etc you can look at more recent United teams and list no end of players.

Keane, Ince, Giggs, Kanchelskis, Scholes, Hughes, Van nistelrooy, Cantona, Schemeichel, Palister, Irwin. Keane was amazing, one of only a few players that 99% of players would back off from or give them time on the ball. Van Nistelrooy scored 150 quicker than Henry and proved he can score in any league unlike Shevchenko and Henry. He had the quality to volley, long/ power shots, headers, runs from the half way line but also had the Linekers/Owen poachers instinct. Another Shearer basically.

Surely the best midfield since 92-93 is:

Giggs Scholes Keane Kanchelskis/Beckham

Also worth a mention are, Shearer, Bergkamp, Zola, Henry, Fowler (for his liverpool times), Dwight yorke@villa, Vierra, Tony Yeboh for his goals alone in such a short time, Gerrard, Mcmanaman, David ginola, Les ferdinand, Matt Le tissier,

Thierry Henry -- Such a talent, always gives 100% in games and theres always one bit of magic at some point!

Eric Cantona -- Again, such a talent and showman. I agree with pete, he changed English football.

Alan Shearer -- Just a genuine role model and always delivered

Cantona didn't do it for long enough for me. Yes he was good, but great?

Got to include Shearer. Schmiechael. The other? Patrick Viera.

Interesting story about Cantona...

Sheff Wed first brought him over, and we played him in this indoor tournement, where he was just class. I remember singing songs about him living in a caravan as he looked a tramp

Trevor Francis didn't sign him straight after as he wanted to see him play on grass, and askedhim to come back a week later. He went and signed for Leeds

Leeds won the title that year, Sheff Wed finished third

Me as well, although I'd like to include Zola but I'm stumped at who he could replace out of those 3, the only Italian to come here and produce the same level if not better than they produced in Italy. He could go on the imaginary subs bench with Bergkamp.

Yeah me too, but Id swap shearer with Henry,if Henry is still delivering in 2 yrs time then yheah I think he would have equalled Shearer but not yet

PMSL @ the completly unbiased dirty reds.

Dennis Bergkamp - Sheer quality, nuff said

Keane - 150% commitment everytime he wore a shirt and thats from a City fan

3rd spot is a hard choice from the likes of Shearer, Fowler, Zola, Gerrard, Henry (the usual suspects ) but the person who stands out because of passion and commitment is Tony Adams.

IMO he was what John Terry is.

Scholes..............SO SO SO underrated it is unbeleivable.....Once he has retired people we see how much of a good player he was. He isnt in the limelight all the time.....if anytime.....so doesnt usually stand out. But he is one awesome player

Cantona---- Needs no reason, just look at what he did once he came back from his ban....... Nuff said

Henry-------- Sheer class and a true footballer in the right sence

Also a generally decent bloke,
Does the school run with the kids, shops at the local Co-op,
Rarely bothers with the 'works do's ' as he and his missus cant be arsed with all the hassle.
Keep on telling him to sign for Oldham so he doesnt keep scoring against us mighty Blues
