Jim Green Returns....................
Well, after three months in South America (Rio de Janerio.....Ohhhhh) and surviving far too many parties.... Ohhh, and the Toga Party.... that one hurt the next morning.
And here is one from the River Amazon...... forget cars, this is how they get around
It's almost time to return home and have some fun. Luckily due to being away, It probably still hasn't hit me that I sold my Cossie last time I was in the UK after owning it for nearly 15 years. But now I look forward to having some fun in this............... and I still have 400bhp
Maybe one day me and Bud-Weis (Who bought my old cossie) will be able to have a duel at the pod........Now I know what your all thinking.....The cossie will obliterate the M5............Ohhh, come on, you didn't really think I would leave it standard did you.
Think DINAN BMW's Equivalent to Karl Norris.....
ALWAYS HAVE RESPECT FOR COSSIE'S THOUGH........LOTS.

Rhys : About the same price as a Cossie Engine....LOL
If I bought the kit from the USA while I was over here, I could get it for about 6k (6k US Dollars = about 3k and a bit Sterling) for the basic kit....supercharger, pipe work, pre mapped ecu (which I'd probably have live mapped once up and running) and i'd need to add a set of eight injectors which I'd also get in the USA. So all in all, up and running about 4k sterling.
If I bought it in the UK.....about 5k Sterling.
God we do get ripped off in the UK.

AVID FAN : Yep, work for Regent Cruise Lines onboard the Seven Seas Mariner. Been doing it far too long though (15 years) and desperately looking for a "Real Job" everytime I come home on vacation.
Supercharging : At the moment been checking alot of the American Web Sites re Supercharged M5's......it seems the easiest way to go for decent power (Relatively Speaking) unless of course you want to go the really expensive way, and port two 16 valve heads and a very advanced inlet system which already has individually controlled throttle bodies. Basically the engine is a very hi-tec engine wich BMW M Sport have already tuned very well, but the engine is so over engineered it can take quite abit more. And they appear to retain their reliability.......assuming you don't go stupid.
Being new to BMW's I'm still very much on a steep learning curve, so just trusting what I read at the moment before I take any wrong plunges.
A US Company called "DINAN" appear to be the masters of M5 tuning, but they appear VERY expensive, but good reading though.
A more realistic (and affordable) conversion is to settle for between 6 - 8psi which will take it to around 550bhp (150bhp over standard) and she'll stay totally reliable....anything over that and it start getting expensive, mainly due to the additional ancillaries. At the end of the day though, it's no more difficult than building a big bhp cossie. Done that, been there....LOL.
First thing will be a decent exhaust sytem, and a re-map which would include getting rid of the electronic limiter which won't let you exceede 155mph. With the limiter removed, and in totally standard form, they're good for 185mph ..... In totally standard form !!!!!
