Well have decided to more than likely sell the cossie and sell the rover diesel daily drive and get a BMW 530d sport, can get a nice full spec 530d sport 02 plate 80k miles for about £11-12k
....drive it everyday and i will get it chipped by stu(msd) to get 240bhp and about 350lbt torque and 50mpg
....i will then be saving on running 2 cars and ill have a lovely everyday car to do the 400 miles a week im currently doing
............thoughts please

servicing is not an issue, at the mo im running 2 cars servicing tax mot etc then im getting average 45mpg from the rover so ill save a bit when cruising on the motorways in the 530 plus got an insuance quote for £302 f/c for the 530d
...so thats £300 a yr cheaper on car insurance, plus ill have leather, sat nav a/c, etc..........and loads of torque
plus the 530 will be chipped and thats it where as the cossie was gona be chipped,lowered alloys alloy underbonnet bling etc circa £4k to spend at least (plus engine rebuilds,gearbox,other problems
)

Not sure about 50mpg. I had a 530d sport but it was auto and was only getting 27-30mpg. On a good run at 80mph I would get 40mpg. Manual would be slightly better but I still dont think 50mpg would be reached, i may be wrong.
Otherwise they are a surperb car, very comfortable, toys are great and if you do long journeys it is one of the best cars I have owned!!!!!!!!!
Servicing - Make sure the Inspection 2 is done as this can cost at least £400, Inspection 1 is about £250 to £300 and an oil services is approx £160.
Other parts, like any other car, you shop round and you can get good prices. Things to watch are Auto box's can be unreliable and turbos tend to let go, otherwise bullet proof. On a 5 series the DSP audio option is nice but very rare!!!!!

You wont see 240 bhp from a remap one...
They are surprising cheapish to run tbh!! Only gets expensive when things go wrong. I was lucky on mine and only think i had to spend on it was £160 for service from BMW
Awsome cars and tbh prob the best car im likly to own for a long time, highly recommend them.
Onyl reason i sold is to start saving for a poxy shoe box house
