Default Accord type-r's????

anyone owned/driven/passengered one of these??

my friend has a civic type-r which is nice, but a little small and plastic for my liking.

also are they liveable with everyday, not too thirsty, would it be worth swapping my saff in for one??

opinions please as i know NOTHING about them

Not as powerful as the CTR , daily running cost i think would be the same as the CTR , it is possible to get in the 30's mpg wise but very doubtful as vtecing it gets pretty addictive

If looked after should be pretty reliable

Ive driven civics type-r's before, but i assume power to weight would be very similar. As diseasel said though, you can get decent mpg out of them but vtec's VERY addictive!!!

2.2 vtec more powerfull but dont rev as well as the integra's.

Th best out of the bunch for thrills i the dc2 integra type-r, best for practicality and overall general use would be the accord imo 5 doors big boot etc. Go test drive 1 but make sure you use ALL the rev range

Great cars, we've had quite a few of them over the years and [touch wood] never had a problem with them or any warranty work that I can recall

Integras are quicker as said but the Accord is more practical and as you'll be going from a 90's Taxi into a noughties Unlicensed Cab, you should feel at home

I dissagre i love the b series engine the dc2 has a vtec range from 6k to 9k the dc5 has vtec from 6k to 8k like the civic type-r.

However i have never driven a dc5 only a civic and imo the civis comes nowhere near the dc2 in terms of thrills and for being a drivers car.

Rocking horse shit springs to mind, tbh would go for an accord over a 4 door integra as i think they look wank, however i would have the dc2 over any other type-r excluding the nsx obviously

There massively rare because there a jap import only so that narrows it down for starters then there the other fact that who in ther right mind would pick 1 over a 2 door

Tbh i aint even sure there a production honda and the few i've seen are conversions
