Well, i need a favour, the insurance (as usual) have offered a stupid £2600 for the car, anyone who knows the car will know it's worth a lot more than that, anyone who doesn't, it's a H reg 4x4 sapphire cosworth in absolutely mint condition, BROM from ZOO knows better than anyone else, anyway, we need to prove the value of the car to the insurance, so any of you guys with a similar 1990 saff 4x4, can you PM or email me: b00st_junk1e@pcoc.co.uk with reciepts / valuations / anything you can think of to show them what the car's REAL value is. It's a really bad time for Jennie and that valuation was plainly a JOKE, just feel like
Many thanks
Ben and Jennie

when my series 2 got stolen they offered me £860 (3 years ago)
all i did was get similar cars from autotrader (more expensive ones) and print out all the adds and send them to them
include it with a covering letter saying something along the lines of you have every intention of replacing the car with a similar one and wish to continue your insurnace with them in the future (always a sweetner).
i settled at £3500 after a few letters back and forth
persistence will pay dividends

I know its a pain and causes alot of hassle but i wouldnt worry too much. As said, they have to pay the amount it will cost for a like for like replacement (assumimg all mods were declared etc)
I got offered £850 for a car years ago, so i cut loads of cuttings out and sent them links to others on the net, and we ended up agreeing on £2600.
Can cause alot of hassle without an agreed valuation, but if your persistent enough then youll not have a problem. Many people just accept it without fighting for the cars true worth, so you cant really blame the insurance company for trying as its a business at the end of the day, so their want to payout as little as possible naturally.

How do you guys get away with that??
We've ust had our Audi written off by Tescos, they basiclly said to my missus thats £xxxx was all she would be getting - they wouldnt change thier mind! whatever proof they send.
Also said if we had a problem with this then to write a letter of complaint to the FSA, still wouldnt change the outcome!
