Make sure the timing belt has been done aroudn 60k, as it can cost up to 2k to replace as it's a full engine out job. I personally wouldnt buy a FIAT, i've just got rid of my wife's Bravo HGT as it was a nightmare from day one.

In the end it needed a new clutch and gearbox which was going to cost around £1500....so i stuck it on ebay Absolute electrical nightmares as well, they certainly arent built for cold/wet weather as when its cold the stereo wont turn off

A lad at work has a 20V turbo coupe, it's fast as fuck, but it just looks tatty. Theres bits of interior trim hanging off all over the place, certainly not a great car for build quality, like most fiats

My wife's Bravo HGT (same engine minus the turbo) would be lucky to see 25mpg Don;t get me wrong, fuckin great engine, sounds fantastic and revs all day long...theres just that thought in the back of your mind that thinks "its gonna go boom one of these days"

Naughty cars.

The early 16v ones run an Integrale engine.

Stu has had plenty of experience with these, even running one with a T4 on it..

16v = 195 BHP
20v = 220 BHP

My bro's just got a 16ver, running 10psi and it shifts pretty good. As with any turbo the more you press the right pedal the quicker the fuel goes !!!

Had a 20v turbo. had to do the clutch and the timing belt on mine, got both done inc a service for 1k. prices of 2k for a clutch or belt are main dealer prices. engine does not NEED to come out for either but the job is easier with it out which is why fiat do it this way, but they quote 17 hours labour for the job.

fuel ecconomy aint nothing special but if that is your prime concern mate buy a 1.0 fiesta..

nice cars, fairly quick as standard and well equipped. evo gave the car 5 stars..

I used 2 work on fiat for 6 n a half years n only really got the fiat coupes in for the timing belts. U can do the timing belt without taking the engine out u have 2 take the engine n gear box mounts off n move the engine 2 the passenger side of the engine compartment.bit of a nightmare job.

IIRC - Exhaust manifolds are also prone to splitting between cyl 4-5. Had mine changed as a goodwill gesture by Fiat, who in-turn are the worst jokers I have been the misfortune of dealing with.

It was Stoneacre in Doncaster - they were so bad, I put the car straight up for sale after the work was completed and haven't considered buying another fiat or alfa ever since. However, the Alfa 8C looks good.
