Default What causes brakes to "squeal"

Just fitted some 4 pots and 330 mm discs and am getting a noise like a squeal when braking from low speeds,what would cause this ?

did you put copper slip on the back of the pads ?

I didn't fit them it was my mechanic m8 who did them. Would that sort the noise ?

could be the pads....on my last saff i had mintex 1144....fookin' squeeled like a pig....glad i crashed it really.....

For the brembo callipers mate you can buy anti squeel shims from places like woodford garage motorsport.... It didnt cure the problem on my evo but did help massively.

Could just be copper slip required on the back of the pads, dead quick job and will probably sort it out!

The calipers on the Focus RS are notorious for it when changing from the std pads with anti-squeal wights on. I always give the caliper a damn good clean with brake cleaner and apply coppaslip to the back of the pad around the pins and shims. Even then with new pads you can still get a slight squeal at very low pedal pressure. It clears after a hundred miles or so though.
