Default So, running a car on veg/cooking oil, what's needed?

I'm quite friendly with me local kebab shop, and they throw out some 4 gallons of used cooking oil a week, so I was thinking, I'm getting a new car in april, if I make it a oil burner, what do I need to do to make it run on used oil?

You running your carbon bodied 16V Turbo XR2 LeMans car on veg oil?

Well i spose Audi kicked ass with the R10TDI, and Peugeot are entering this year in the 908, so you could be in with a good chance I reckon mate.

Seriously tho, dervs can often enough be run on pure oil, no mods, but prob wise to mix in some diesel too, give it a helping hand.

Unless its a newer diesel, as they dont like it as much, but an older smoker will be fine dude.

Make sure you take all the Chilli Sauce and Kebab meat out first tho

if you have a car with a Lucas fuel system you have to mix it with diesel else it fucks the injection pump up i found that out with my Escort TD

if its a Bosch setup then you can run it on pure cooking oil with out any problems

I though I didn't need much doing except work out a way to filter out all the shite mix in one quarter diesel and jobs a goodun.

So for a tank, Ł9.50 in diesel, couple of quid for filters, oil comes free still works out about 25p a litre

But I have to give the government 27p a litre thou dunno why he got vat on the oil in the first place....

a mate of mine just does a 50 50 mix with normal un used cooking oil, he owns a sort of cafe place so is always buying oil in bulk, his 4x4 runs absolutly fine on it, says he cant be arsed with the filtering tho thats why he usues fresh.
