a friend of a friend is having problems getting his rs1800 into gear and its generally gone all floppy.

he wasnt sure where to get a new one from.

so i said i'd ask.

are they the same as xr2i ones?

also is there anywhere selling them new now? or is it off to the breakers?

Have heard of people fitting Puma linkage as it's sposed to have shorter throw

Oranco's right the puma shifter has a shorter through and cheaper than buying a B & M.

Just need to make your own return though so you'll need 2 springs so that it will stay in neautral and not flop about.

so even though its a zetec engine in the rs1800 its uses the same linkage as the cvh powered xr2i?

that was my only worry.

i doubt he will be going for the puma one. i know i would be i cant see him doing it tbh. i think he just want to drive it again.
