Play party poker and PokerStars, normally play $5/6 buy-in sit and goes, generally finish in the money 7/8 times out of 10
Have to organise a PF table, I started a thread on this a while back

I have played on Victor Chandler for about a year, and to be honest online poker is not what one would call random, so expect some pretty spectacular bad beats
always tend to end up even, if I play very tight and concentrate I can slowly increase my bank roll but I am usually pissed and get over confident and loose it all on $50 buy in table
live games are where its at, but I would only play friendly stakes Ł5/Ł10 buy in.

Online is exactly as random as playing live.

Andy,
This is one of the biggest myths of all time.
I've been playing live for 5 years and online for about 4 now, and I have a tracker online that tracks my playing stats across all sites.
My percentages are EXACTLY as you would expect in all situations.
The reasons people state that online is fixed is simply don't understand statistical probability.
When you play online compared to live, you see approximately 10 times as many hands per hour, so the statistics are more obvious. This means that you will see 5% outs a lot more than live. Consider also that all of the networks such as cryptologic are all independantly audited and regulated.
My stats on poker tracker are based over 50,000 hands and all the probabilities sit as you would expect.
The simple fact is that those people who claim it's fixed are either not very good players, supported by the fact that over 90% of all players are losing players, or don't understand simple mathematics.
I know what a bad beat is - a bad beat is your opponent hitting runner runner full house against your A high flush at 4 in the morning for a $12,500 WSOP package, but it happens.
You simply can't argue the stats - show me your poker tracker stats, and they'll be exactly as you would expect because guess what?

Rich is right. Online is as straight if not STRAIGHTER than live!
I organise a game once or twice a month for some of my clients who play alot both live and online.
Playing next Tuesday actually. Would you like to come and play Rich?
I am SHITE but we have a really good laugh.
We play in our building. We have a pro croupier called Mary who is great fun and has big boobs and knows how to show them off

I know what your saying and it all makes sense and I can't show you my stats because I have no idea how to do that I am very much a casual player and probably not very good at it I would guess.
however....
I can play distinctly more aggresive offline than I ever possibly could online because online the cards that come out on the flop etc. always tend to leave many winning hands available usually a straight draw, a flush draw etc etc so all of a sudden your pocket aces don't look so strong and 9 times out of 10 somebody will always have the nuts!!
I don't know, I can't help but think online poker is biased towards excitement I am not saying its "fixed" because that would be wrong.
the other night I played a few tourneys and got pocket kings 5 times and lost everytime, most of them went as all in's either because I went all in or somebody else went all in and I felt obliged to follow

Mate, it's easily done, but you just have to know your probabilites off by heart to know what is and isn't a bad beat.
When your Aces play against a 789 flop for example, they aren't half as good as they were.
Example? Don't get mad when your opponent is four to the flush and calls your all-in after the flop, as he's 35% to hit it. When you play your AK, remember that up against two random non-paired cards, you're only a 2 to 1 favourite.
It also depends what type of poker you play. If you play tournaments, then tight aggressive is the way to go, and your aces WILL be the best hand as many times as they should be.
Play cash games, and you WILL get your Aces cracked more often, simply because the game is more loose and more people will see more flops with suited connectors etc....
The biggest problem online is that people, without human interaction, tend to play much more trappy. Never let anyone outdraw you without the right price. Get all-in pre-flop with your As and over the long term, you will be ahead with them - you just have to ride out the shot term flutuations to be in profit over the long term, as long as your bankroll management is good, and you don't play higher stakes than your money allows.
A little home game we play, and recently got my Aces cracked twice by the same person, once by Kings, and once by Q3. Was I mad? Not at all. I WANT those calls, because they are mistakes on his part. Just like online - you WANT the bad calls, because you will show a profit on those plays long term..... but you will also suffer some hideous beats as a result of short term statistical fluctuation.
Poker is basically applied statistical mathematics, but as the High Court ruled last week, you still need a little bit of luck!

Play a bit, best win was $612, worst loss was $190. on the short stack, went all in with pocket aces, got beat with 3 of a kind 2's on the river....
Makes you wonder if online is fixed though, who would call that kind of money with a pair of 2's? In its defense though, it does generally seem to be as fair as a real table.

Has to be said, on Party poker there ALWAYS seems to be AA vs QQ or AK vs JJ etc, seems to set up theese situations loads to make sure the rake gets increased...
But again on Party poker you get lots of real idiot play, people calling your all in's with absolutly nothing , then getting angry when they loose!
