That Portugese find has to trump them all.
Does he get to keep them? If so, he probably got the price of the farm for free!

It's a strange one that Portugese barn find. It looks like they've been sealed in there for about 10 years untouched.

not all fords, but ive came across a Nova 1300 Sport with 2000 miles on the clock from new, no rust or welding, tried to buy it but wouldnt sell it at all even after offering Ł3,000 for the whole car!

Next to the wee "chav favourite" nova was a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo with 15000 on the clock and a 2 partly rebuilt classics of yester-year for you old guys to remember: 1960 ford Fairlane in pristine condition and a half restored Mk1 Escort (paint was faded and slight rust to the body, was beign restored to standard for car shows he attends with these cars.

really just wanted to stay there forever and bargain a deal for them all but he wouldnt sell any of them even for the ridiculous amounts ma dad was offering for them!

In a nearby village there is a house with a Mk1 2 door cortina parked outside.

My dad recons it was there in the 60's.

Got trees growing through it - must be utterly rotten by now. I havent been that way for 18 months now, but I bet its still there.

When I had my old mini, a mate told me there was a '68 mini on his uncles farm. I had been there several times, and I'd never seen it.

"Its under that bush" he says. 5 minutes of stomping into this huge bush, if you squint, you could just about see the rear 1/4.

"Theres no doors on it" i shout to him. "Look on the ground"

Sure enough - the doors had rotted clean off! Didn't bother to go any further with that one.

There's all sorts of old crap there. Daf's, Yugos, a Manta. All fucked when they were abandoned 20 years ago.

Not really barn finds, but there you go!

My Dad got given a Mk3 Granada 2.9i Ghia X that had been sitting in his mates Mum's garage for 3 years, story goes that she came out 1 day and the battery was flat and never used the car again, when Dad got it, it had 3 inches of dust on it but as soon as we cleaned the dust off it never had a mark on it.
It only had 30k on the clock too it was a G reg and this was back in 1998.

Also when I lived in Aughton (when I was about 10-11) I took my Grandads dog for a walk and she chased a rat into an old garage, so I followed her in, only to find one of them beach buggies in there like Anneka Rice had on Challenge Anneka, I went back a few years later and the garage has gone and there was no sign of the beach buggie.

The only thing I've found was in some derilict (sp) garages. It had been there a little while, the roof of the garage had collapsed on top of it.

Somewhere quite local to me there is apparently a Mk1 RS1600 sitting in a old pigs shed.

I know someone who has tried to buy it on several occasions but the owner refuses to part with it.

I love coming accross old cars hidden away, shame all I ever find is there for a reason.......... cos its scrap
