What do you think of the possibility of running PassionFord without pictures from now on? And by "Without pictures" i mean;

NO Pictures
NO Signatures
NO Avatars

Id just like you to consider the forum's appearance like this and then ask yourself why, if you enjoy the pics and siggys and your a heavy user of PHOTOBUCKET, you havent donated to Alex yet?

We have all used and enjoyed photobucket as our uploader for over 12months now and have started to take it for granted, but what if, one morning we wake up and its gone?

These services dont last forever if they arent paid for you know guys.. why not Donate a measly $5 as asked? That converts to about £2.70p i think and for that you recieve:

Bandwidth restrictions lifted
Increase max image size to 500 Kb
Disk space limitation lifted
FTP access via ftp.photobucket.com
Addverts removed from your album

Now come on guys, those features alone are worth $5 surely? Let alone the fact that Alex will recieve some cash for his hard labour to help sustain his heavily abused service

As do quite a few others, so tough to police and please everyone.

Personally don't care either way.

 

I use PHBucket for everything! I've made my donation as I only think it's right!

 

Why not just use your own host or install apache on your/another computer.

Just do what I do...

1. stay in one friday night
2. start uploading some holiday or car show pictures
3. start drinking heavily
4. start reminising over the photos whilst thinking how good photobucket is
5. continue drinking very heavily
6. Get drunk and so therefore over emotional and impulsive
7. Get blown totally away by photobuckets FREE service
8. Start clicking widly on the photobucket paypal button, donating money, pledging gifts and thinking what internal organs I don't need

I have done this a few times as well

BUT it is a very good service so I would have donated by now even it I wasn't a raging unstable alcoholic

Try it yourself and sample its fantastic ease of use, its photoalbum type layout and its tools for rescaling etc not to mention its security, then tell me you would rather piss about with FTP and webspace?

I just use my own server here. When I take a new picture of my car I just copy it from my digital camera onto my server (just a maped drive so simple drag and drop) into a directy labeled with the current date in a YYYYMMDD format so when you sort by name they end up in date order and then just simply use that URL in my post, don't have to mess around FTPing or anything just simple drag and drop!

 

A good system indeed, but certainly not for everyone

I could obviously use the PF server, but i find Photobucket easier too
