... we are trying to concentrate on something else (like tv, reading, work, playing games, diy etc...)?? And then get all upset when we only catch the arse end of a conversation!!

For example, your watching a film, the main characters are currently discussing the main twist in the plot for the whole movie & right then and right there your mrs/mother then decides to talk to you about the shopping...

But you don't listen because you don't want to miss whats going on. Then the secrets out the break comes on and you say.

"sorry hunni what was that I was watching the film"

Then they look at you with this utter look of disbelief that you wasn't fully paying attention and then say "It doesn't matter"

Well if it doesn't matter why do you look like ceaser when brutus stabbed him!

"No sorry hunni, it got to an important point in the film tell me?"

Then you have an argument!! and then miss the rest of the film anyway!!

Why, because she was to bloody inconsiderate & impatiencent to just wait for the right moment to get your attention when you wasn't desperately trying to pay attention to the film!!'

Grrrr, why, women, please tell me!!!

my gf is more often than not 'on one' so to speak, you know, bit moody, not very talkative...probably something bothering her and I'm supposed to use my powers of extra sensory perception to know whats up...

...that is of course until i actually do something that doesn't directly involve her or her ability to subject me to a mood swing i.e. use my mobile, play xbox, go on the pc...then she'll chat her head off... almost goading me into saying 'shut the fck up'... which i do of course

Why? What do you mean why? I thought everyone knew that if they (women) aren't the centre of attention, and you are concentrating on something other than them, they HAVE to butt in on whatever you are concentrating on, in order to BECOME the centre of that attention!

Like he other day im trying to get my cyl head sorted out to get built back up , taking valves out , she decides to tell me her life story man !!! and i didnt hear what she was sayiong and then lost my concentration and hit my hand with a hammer !!!
