Heard a little rumour that DannyB's Magenta Saph caught fire on Saturday at the Pod and that the car is no more!

Can anyone confirm or deny if this is true.

Ive just seen the details on another forum that I know Danny is very close to, so it looks like it is true.

So as said Danny, im very sorry to hear it, I know you put a lot of time, effort and money into that car to make it the beast that it is/was. I hope the damage isn't too severe.

My car will be in the parts for sale section as a rolling shell once I've worked out a sensible figure for it, there was a fire and there was alot of damage but the shell is fine although most things in the engine bay and all wiring are damaged. It a shame but I did plan to break the car after this weekend due to other reasons. just means theres less to sell

Thanks greg, I got out unhurt although very close so thats all I'm bothered about. More pissed off that the car was working very well and some good times were gonna happen, the car has now ran 1.61 60ft now on 225 BFG drag radials, shame it didn't burn after the finish line

1.61 60ft! on a RWD with 225 tyres that havent even got a big sidewall to ripple/crease for some mega grip like proper drag tyres

thats a proper advert for the hauser rear end! imagine some nice wide 15s and big sidewall drag tyres, with that rearend youl be pulling fookin wheelies off the line...

its still alive just needs a little loving and a big power engine, I cant bare to put more money and time into despite wanting to in a way. I it needs engine bay and a wing painting and a new bonnet and head lights, then another loom and its ready again for a new engine. I'm going to be moving away from the cossie world to compete seriously in the european drag racing championship, unfortuanately its gonna be harder now as many little things that add up when breaking a car have melted

Anyone who is Seriously interested in my car as a rolling shell with the Hauser 8.8 and ladder set up complete with fully welded in rollcage and leda coil overs, also alloy fuel cell and a few other little one off's please PM me.

Saturday was a very sade day but as everyone tells me I'm ok so thats important. if it burnt to the ground after a 10second pass then i wouldn't be so bothered
