Default Steering rack question...

Just a quickie - track rod seems to have free play in it. Can I swap it out without having to change the entire rack? It's a 1990 Fiesta but I'm guessing the Escort Mk4 and other Fords around the same age will be similar.

Cheers,

Munki

...but be sure that it is the problem, I was told to change mine, and it was the bush in the end of the rack.

(I take it you mean the joint at the rack and not at the wheel)

Thanks guys. It's the track rod not the rod end Plus I just paid £12 to have the tracking set perfectly - buggeridge

Steve, which bush went on yours?

Yep, good old manual rack lol. Think it's shagged anyhoo 'cos I'm growing proper real muscles (wow) - it's a bit stiff and keep creaking... it's like steering a proper ship
