Ok, there not the best fit but over the years they have improved and especially the range for the new Ford seems to go on without any trouble at all. Are you sure you have the correct part numbers?

That is weird. I got a Mongoose system for our MK4 Escort XR3i EFI. I put an MFI manifold and downpipe on it, and fitted the whole system straight up. Sat perfect in the bumper, didn't catch on anything other than the really sharp speed bumps. Even sounded nice. Only thing was that I had to tack it where the middle meets the bend in front of the rear arms as if you did catch a speedbump, it would move slightly within the joining flange otherwise.

collins own the brand and make in house.i sell these systems as well as magnex, scorpion, janspeed and many others.and i have never had a prob with the quality or the fit on a ford. and ive had four systems off them 2 ecs turbo systems a pulsar and the saff.no probs what so ever.

just make sure its correct for the car cos it could be that although its an escort one it may be for another model.

They all used to be made at BlueFlame in Skelmersdale Nil not in house, these were the ones that had a good fit back in the day.

The mongoose I had on my saph was OK but the one I bought from Collins for my 306S16 was a shockingly poor fit
I had to cut off part of the rear heat shield in the end, plus I never got it to completely stop knocking, or the tail pipe to sit right.

Add to that the Collins chip had to go back twice (generated loads of fault codes) and then the thieving cunt never sent it back means I would never touch any thing from that robbing cunt again
