Default How common for both headlight bulbs to blow together?

My bro just called me as his dipped beam had packed up on his '99 Mondeo V6. After checking through relays, and tchecking for power and a bit of head scratching it was found both the dipped beam bulbs had blown. Surely that can't be right can it? Is it a freak thing or could there be something underlying

He's probably been driving for a while on one light and didn't realise

Dave Henshall, daft question perhaps, but did you touch the glass at all?

Quite a common fault on the mondeo.

Did the same on mine, seems as one goes, the other goes straight away then the fuse blows.

So check the fuse under the bonnet (under the bonnet on the diesel) and then replace the bulbs.
