I voted and now changed my mind I mean £20 per year only equates to £1.66 recurring a month!

I use the for sale section few times a year, maybe the girls room and quite often the technical forum. Not bothered about size of PM box, google ads, attachment size etc etc etc

I think £20 is a small price to pay....I've already saved £300+ on my insurance.

I honestly don't know how you survive at those prices.

But yet it's STILL the same high quality product and service you'd expect from someone charging double.

That to me is worth exponentially more than £20 a year.

You just CANNOT put a price on it!

Well YOU can Phil and I bet it's at least 25% less than anyone else!

As hard as this may be to believe [what with me being irresistable to both women AND men] I do only swing one way and that's towards the maidens I'm afraid.

Although the sentiment is much appreciated.

But when I need Bosch parts, I know EXACTLY where to go for the best deals

I'm just wondering how far I can push it until another mod deletes all this to be honest

BOSCH MAN FOR GREAT DEALS!

Read the thread - I replied to Jim saying I don't think it makes a loss and I still don't. And if PF made any cash I would not give a fook!.

I agree that Pet gives his time away free. But in hard cash out of the pocket I can't see either Stu or Pet handing out £'s in cash unless it was offset against marketing and gained trade/custom.

So all the peeps giving it large. Tell me what £20 gives me if I don't sell any parts etc ?

Be careful, you strayed dangerously close to advertising another site then or even your services to build one.

He should do it for nowt, try and keep the moaners happy, and let it run his private life and be on the beck and call to all Email's and PM's 24/7

In all seriousness, Who gives a flying wether any profit is made from here, I dont, If there is a profit made then i hope it is spent on good beer, good food and good women

It's OK saying that mate but in my own case for instance i'm in the Mlr £35, RSOC £25, and get a decent magazine from both, access too all forums, advertising etc, it soon adds up if your in a 1 or 2 other car clubs too. I'm only a Gold member for the odd bits & bobs i try n sell now again.

Not bothered about the 20 quid either way but would be interested in knowing the 3 numbers below. (current will do)

1. How many normal members?
2. How many gold members?
3. How many traders?

id pay a 10er, which is what ive paid on cruisesouthwest and kernowkruz in the past, however why pay double here for less of a "service" anywhere else ? on the cruisesites i got webmail and server space aswell for image hosting, aswell as hidden site access (which arent too hard to access anyway) and advertising.

i am a member because of the benifits and i do not even have a Ford, look at how many people come on here and bitch and moan when things go down and the board is running slow, who fixs it ??? Stu, Pet do you not think they deserve a little in return for there time at silly hours so as to help others out????

If you can afford to own a Cossie or RST for that matter i do not think £20 is to much and as Pete said the ability to sell parts has to be worth it alone,

As for the MLR the is an easy one take part in a group buy you make your money back straight away, alright the bb is not as busy but the magazine and technicle articles are worth the money and the fact of what they offer as a club......... i fail to see how people can not see the MLR as a bargin

Out of all of this you will always be able to say but this site offers this and that site offers that, well if that is what you are after then fuck of to that site because this site offers what it does and charges £20 for a few privledges.

I have only just become a member solely because I can now afford it, being an RSOC member and a member on MLR and also a member on a footie forum, made it ridiculous having to pay out for 4 memberships. Now I have turned my back on the RSOC, resigned as a Mod on there, I don't have any allegiance to it anymore and shan't be renewing my membership due to their total fuck-up regarding tracktime at Nat Day, the time seemed right to become a Gold Member on here.

£20 is on a par with what ScoobyNet charge for SN Plus membership - £25, but you do get a members pack for the extra fiver and also SN offers various options http://bbs.scoobynet.com/payments.php rather than a blanket one-off price ranging from £5 to £25.

Membership to MLR is totally different - £35 per annum and as Mike says, an absolute bargain. Fantastic group buys, MLR trackdays, MLR sprints, MLR 30-130, great informative mag, discounted club shop, tickets and free parking on an MLR group stand for bigs events like TOTB. The members pack contains MLR Handbook, membership card, tax disc holder, key ring, new MLR cling decals, £10 voucher off your 1st MLR trackday current issue of magazine and a nice A3 calendar.

Maybe more people would contribute to PF if there were various levels of membership like SN has. I know I shan't use all the extra options Gold Membership offers, like tech forums etc as I no longer own a cossie.

I think you will always get people who say £20 is cheap and them who think it isnt

1, As said , if you pay membership on loads of other sites then it will get quite expensive

2, If you dont sell anything ( or very little ) then it will seem expensive

3, If your not a regular visitor , then it will seem expensive

BUT,

4, if you sell quite a bit ( inc a car or two ) then its for nothing

5, If you like to take the piss out of stupid people ( jay cos ) then its the best value on the net

6, if you oftern need tech help , again £20 is cheap

I can go on and on ,,

I have seen some great things happen on here , People going out of there way for others who they only know from on here
Meetings at shows and summer evenings etc
All in all if you look at the big picture its a good place for everyone and £20 isnt much these days

Well done to all involved in PF
