Well in excess of 3500 stickers have been cut since Pf started.

Average 2 per car, 2/3rds posted out and 1/3rd given out at meets etc.

Work out how much I have personally spent on postage from that lot

Sent around 50 to Australia and 26 into Europe alone last week

And now you want a bloody sponge

£20 is nothing considering you make that back if you sell a few bit's and plus you get access to the mens room and alot of them porn sites charge more than £20 join

It's £20 a year - hardly going to break the bank and some of the stuff in the Mens Room is 'interesting' I'll renew when it's due.

Pf is simply a forum its not a shop or a members club etc.

Several people requested t shirts etc so if you click the link it actually takes you to a page where those are listed. That costs me £40 every six months to have it set up without annoying adverts all over the place.

Yes but you join a club with that you get discount of suppliers and also get a Magazine 4 time a year, a calender, and EVO Track days

I am a member of Club Scuderia ( A Ferrari Forum) and that is only £10.00 year. I think for £20.00 to be a gold member is to much for what you get. Now turn it in to a club and like the MLR or the RSOC then yes i would pay £50.00 for it.

No way does it make a loss. £20 a pop from its members, its run by pet who runs an ISP and I am sure Motorsports Developments has done very well out of publicity and extra custom. £20 is cheap if your selling parts, too expensive if your not! I like to read pf but there are very few interesting car threads to read to be honest, lots of pony threads about nothing. Still makes me laugh that I am expected to pay £20 in order to place a thread in the forum to discuss how much my car is worth inn order to help me decide what the fook to do with it, not an advert of any kind plus i think it would have been a semi interesting thread. Mind you the mods get a hard job when you get pathectic peeps complaining, sad twats!!

nice to see some one get there facts right before they type just cos pet owns the isp compnany it still cost to run it and the gold membership does not cover the full running costs pett covers some of it through his company

and why you say stu made out of it he a trader like all the other traders on here his banner has as much time displayed as all the others who pay for a trade banner. and this is a forum so you will have a range of as you say poxy threads also i.m glad people pm mods informing us of people breaking the rules they agread to follow when they signed up to the site so would say calling fellow members sad twats is abit low

and £20 a year (5p a day)is fuck all and there are plenty of benifits if you sell one car i think im right in saying it cheaper tthan a add in autotrader plus as a normal member you get discount at greenlight insurance and a goldmember you get a even bigger discount

IMO there is no way PF makes a loss. Not going to agrue that with anyone.

People who complain to mods over some stuff are sads twats. I wonder if they go crying to their mummy first!!LOL Mummy, daddy someone has put a post of PF asking how much a car is worth!!LOL Even my 12 year step son is not that fooking sad!!LOL

And finally you did not read my post regarding the charges. £20 is cheap if you got stuff to sell, expensive if you don't - learn to read! Now go and give your mum a cuddle and relax!!LOL Tell you what I can send you my 3.5 month old daughters dummy if you like ?

20 a pop from a small percentage of its members had it been all then i imagine membership would be about a quid, although until this happens then 20 imo is fine

£20 is fuck all , ive sold a few parts on here that more than covered it. More importantly ive made plenty of new friends and met loads of good folk off of here, if it wasnt for the gold membership the site may not exist and these things wouldnt have happened so well worth the money

Ego,s where you get that from define a club ! Ok local meets aranged by appointed organizers, a monthly / 1/4 magazine with input by members, club merchandise, group buys organised buy the club, club national day, ETC

Message board > can of worms there really but rember this is the internet and it is not the real world, that exists when you step out side your front door.

My point is i have no car to sell and don't use message boards to sell stuff !, I use Ebay.

Tell me what (other that to option to sell a car) i get for my £20.00 ?

And as for passion ford not paying for its self sorry don't buy that at all

So why the fuck do you use this site ??? fucking idiot
i will also not pay whatever the cost, but use the site regularly. makes me a fucking idiot does it?

i use the site (the parts of it that i can access) because i can. i found that the parts that i previously paid to use are not worth paying for.

i felt that i contributed some useful information to the 'technical essays archive', but now don't need to get anything from there so no longer feel the need to contribute to it.

reason i will not pay anymore but did last year? don't have any parts to sell anymore - although when i did last year very few of them actually sold via the adverts on this site but quickly sold on ebay. that's maybe because ebay has the auction facility so parts can go for less than what you wanted whereas you have to fix a price on here and if people think it's too high they won't bother. possible also comes down to trust and buyer protection?

imo, a website like this should be free to use when it has advertisements in place. fair enough, it has to make enough money to cover costs somehow, and imo those ads should be doing that with the supposed amount of traffic that this forum generates.

at the end of the day, although i use it a lot and have made some friends off here, if it didn't exist anymore it wouldn't be the end of the world for me. it's just entertainment, and there's plenty of other sources of that (i could play pocket billiards more often )

How stupid is this ? So, hosting is cheap, a quad Xeon is cheap too, a dedicated TDSL line is too, and my knowledge and work time at days and nights on this site is also cheap, and even free? i should pay out of my own pocket, that's it, i imagine, and work for free, just for the glory of having some members moan when it's offline for 5 or 10 minutes a day ?
I imagine YOU are working for free and paying out of your pocket for all the stuff you need to work, aren't you ?

Also, the £20 price has been DISCUSSED with the members when the site was due to close since i was paying EVERYTHING out of my pocket at first, not speaking about my labour time for free. There had been a discussion, then a poll, and £20 was the final agreement with everyone. It's hardly very expensive, is it ? How much do you pay for your cigarettes, or for your beers, or for your 100 miles trip in your Cossie when you get it out of the garage ?

I'm starting to be really fed up about this kind of statement, and i think this should come to an end one way or the other. If not, all the peeps that think it's easy, free or even cheap, please do the same, create such a big site, try to learn how to maintain it first, spend as much time and effort as me every day to sort evey glitch that can occur when 800+ members are clicking everywhere, not speaking about the 80 or 100 emails and PMs i receive every DAY asking for a name change, a new password or a "i've lost my details can you help" (same goes for mods or Stu, who even gets phone calls at his office for fucking sake ), that are processed within 2 hours maximum with a solution ALWAYS given (and usually sorted within 10 minutes after i received the message if i'm not in bed), and i'll see how long you'll keep this way without calling it a day. Please respect our fucking time and work !

And btw, thanks to all the members that know what they are talking about and that are supporting us since so long, it's thanks to you that we are continuing with PF. If it was not for your kind words when others slate us, we would have stopped a long time ago.

Please respect our fucking time and work !

And btw, thanks to all the members that know what they are talking about and that are supporting us since so long, it's thanks to you that we are continuing with PF. If it was not for your kind words when others slate us, we would have stopped a long time ago.

He did pay it before, when he wanted the benefits of it but now he doesn't need to which I personally think is fair enough.

We all have the freedom to contribute how we see fit, be it with money, advice [of which Nick has given plenty in the past! - some of it even useful ], sorting peoples siggys, moderating time etc etc...

It's great that we have the freedom to help out how we want as it's not a club, it's a community

*EDITED TO ADD* I think if people feel they want to contribute financially to get some benefits of being able to sell stuff or just to say thank you to all the hard work, time and money Petrucci and Stu have put in to the site £20 is really fuck all!

As said above, it equates to about 40 miles worth of petrol in a cossie

I love the fact that people will happily pay £10 a year, but think £20 is too expensive!

"No, 5p per day is far too much, but 2.5p per day is much more acceptable!"

Goons.

What a retarded question "is it worth 20 quid"...of course it is,being able to sell on here is worth far more than that alone....and remember without us donators this place wouldnt be here now..think about that!

This topic should have read "I am a sponger and 20 quid is too much infact 10p is too much cause i want everything for free"

can't be arsed to read through this lot, but I can't see the problem here you can still use the site for free anyhow, just have limited features

and in Pets defence to keep a site such as this going must be a labour of love in my opinion, especially when you get moaning posts like this

on the mlr your only allowed 20 posts a day I think it is, if your not a member thats obviously the real reason I got rid of the Evo and got another cossie

i have been thinking about becoming a gold member myself recently not because I want the extra features but mind you it is frustrating at times when there's a link to the mens room but because I feel a contribution is worthwhile to ensure the site keeps going, and ffs £20

in fact bollocks I will join right now

I voted not to pay at all

my take is if i had to pay £10/20 on every BB i visited i'd be paying like £500 a year!

i do appriecate a site like this costs thousands to run (i know this first hand) but i personally think traders advertisements should cover the costs and not the general membership.
Or if the membership does pay there should be no advertisements, oh and if i was paying i'd like to see a paid for BB and not a freebie and some image hosting!

i noticed someone said PF makes a loss.... i seriously doubt it

i'm fully in belief the internet should be a free resource for all

Who really gives a fuck if pet/stu make a few quid out of the site like pet said he puts alot of time and effort into the running of the site (some of which is behind the sceans stuff we dont see) and IF he makes a few quid out of it fair play to him as im fucked if i would sit on here for hours at a time sorting the problems with the site like what pet does for fuck all. It's like going to work ALLDAY then going to a second job after that and being paid fuck all for the second job im pretty sure that second job wouldn't last to long
