Default IT Experts - Data Recovery from Memory stick

My girlfriend has a mega important excel document on her memory stick which she doesnt back up dur

And she cant open it or copy it anywhere

When u try to open it says - cannot copy or read source file from the disk

We stried a little free recovery prog from the internet and it said stream read error


Anybody have any ideas how to recover it....its hugely important to her

Any chance of using some software to do it? Woould it need to be don eon the computer it fucked up on or could she post it to me and get me to take it somewhere?

if the file is that important I would take the device to a data recovery specialist and pay the money myself.
Expecially if the device the file was on was had the FAT or NTFS filesystem

yes!!! leave it alone or risk losing it.

I can do it for you our work has a data recovery dept. (MOD so pretty good!)

However i cant get the file off the stick so i'd have to post it to you.

As per above, an IT expert type can do it, I had the same problem and gave it to our IT department and they got all the data off seemingly blank memory cars, hundreds of pictures

yeah you would have to send the stick mate, the file is corrupt or USB sticks file structure has corrupted.

are there any other files on there, do they work?
