Most people who attended primary school can convert from centimeters to millimeters without a converter, in faster time than it'd take to find a converter and punch the numbers in

I wasn't sure because of the smiley you used, but I hope you are taking the piss?

There is 10mm to every 1cm - so 406mm is 40.6cm, or 128mm is 12.8cm

I can't belive this thread went up in the first place (bit like asking how much 126pence is in pounds ) but I hope to god that JL's answer was sarcastic and he clicked the wrong smiley!!!!!

EDIT - Just seens JL's second reply, I understand now

But you don't have to do ANY sums at all! Absolutely NO arithmatic whatsoever!

You just take the number - 406 for example - and put a full stop before the last number! 406 becomes 40.6, as in forty-point-six-centimetres....

You don't need to DO anything!

Bit like if I asked you how much 1003 pence is? It's simply Ł10.03p isn't it? 100pennies in a pound, 1000 penies in 10 pound, etc...

10mm in a cm, 100cm in a metre, etc etc.....

there's a big difference between a decimal point and a full stop, even if the same symbol is often used for both. at least if we're going to try and educate this mong, do it properly.

i bet he passed his gcse with flying colours
