i agree-the 3 door and escos look awesome-but i dont buy one to park up and look at,apart from when its broke!i could have kept the white 3 door ive just sold, but i dont believe in having a big metal ornament sat in the garage!
the 80/s and early 90/s benchmark was the cossie, but when ford lost interest, the evo took over.

I am on there and evolutionoz.net.au down here. Although the Evo has cost me a bit, it has been in upgrades, replacing parts or fixing things from my own stupidity!
Am off to the track in a bit to see my tuners one which has approx 500bhp at the fly. Very nice grey 8 MR. Will try and get some pics.

the evo 4 suffers from "crankwalk"where it has way too much lateral play in the crank.i know-i bought one and found mine had it.
there is a modification for it but not sure what it is exactly.i ended up putting a different engine in it
get a 5/6.much better looking and dont have crank problem-or buy a 4 with a warranty
dont know too much about the 3

the old school fords are a bit like women and we've all got them,
you love them and wouldn't be without them ,but every now and again they piss you off and or cost you money you really havn't got and then they need lots of attention but give you so much back
but i suppose the evo is like a thia bird doesn't cost you alot and would suck you off when ever you say

evo's and subarus are no dowt great cars
lets be honest here they have got nearly 20 years techno advantage
the sierra 3dr was made in 1985 the only real differance between the 4wd sierra and the escort are the bushes they were slightly uprated
and escort cos is basically a cut and shut 4wd saff with only minor changes like rear anti roll bar ect /uprated bushes /uprated center vc from 25Nm to 50Nn and 50 mm shorter
but it's basically the same underneath as the 4wd saff
so you know there wasn't that much devolpment that went into the escort
and wasn't all new escort
if these evos and subs was not as good then some questions would have to be asked
evo/subs they are the modern day cossie simple as that really
ford are finished end of
personally the Rs500 looks the best out of all these cars and you can't beat heritage
marco

Was toying with a 6 myself just before christmas but as i will be using it every day and i preferred the interior of the 7 i thought id play safe and go for that. The car i've bought aint even turned 18K yet and is an absolute credit to its former owner (cheers Karl)
Drove it from Leeds to Scarbrough to Newcastle (in and around the centre) then up the Coldstream to Edinburgh and on to Aberdeen and it used????????? £55 of petrol
Top motors and a pleasure to drive.
Wont be getting rid of the 3 door though still need that cossie fix every now and then
