right looked in to this early last year and what i found out was

it whould cost loads, was evern thinking about selling my focus rs to fund it but then changed my mind.

1st you need to find out if you can coppy the rim or you might end up in big trouble.
2nd you need to get a cast made up this will cost about 3k upwards.
3rd you need to get atleast 2 sets made up to get test done on them for strenght, ect if you dont you carnt sell them as if one brakes you could end up being in alot off trouble and very skint plus evern if you want one set for yourself you still need to do this if you want to be insured 100% and not run the risk off not getting paid a penny if you crash your car.
4th so as you can see its going to cost about £3 k for cast, 2k to get 2 sets made up for testing and then about £4k to get tested if they pass the test first time then alls good if not repeat untill you do at £6k a time, after that you can then go ahead and make the rims, o but you will also need another cast at least as wheel makers dont like to make one at a time so for 4 cast`s ( first one £3 k then each one after that about £1k ) at best it going to cost £12 K befor you make one rim and to make 4 rims it will cost about £600 and thats a run off 25 sets (min) so that another £15 k so you need about £27 k to get it off the ground if all goes well.

so £27 k for 25 sets thats £1080 per set min and you whould want to make a profit on your £27 k investment so you whould be looking at about £1500 a set whould make a nice profit but its a bit risky as the testing could go very wrong and cost loads more than £6k

Still think they whould look very very and be the best rims for the car but i didnt have the bottle to do it sorry

cheers dunc

Dont think they whould as the escort has long gone in there eyes, the main problem is with the the escort fitment if there was more cars out there it whould fit then they might but as you know the escort is different and just not enouth for them shame if i could get 24 sets paid for in addvance and they didnt mind waiting about 8 to 12 months for them then i might just take the gamble and go for it and hope the testing went well, but like i said you need to find out if you can coppy them first or a slight difference whould have to be made to them, was going to use an old style mo as the start so that big brakes fit in side them

I'd buy an Escort Cosworth just for a set... They look lush in that size. I'always loved the way the standard Escos wheels look and they were a doddle to clean when I had them on my Saff.

Didn't Ronal make the original? Maybe worth approaching them...
